1) Drunk Dialing - I'm sure that if you haven't directly experienced it, you know someone who has: it's late at night, you've had a couple drinks, and the alcohol teams up with your loneliness to make you really want to do something you know you shouldn't: call your ex's number and spill all your emotions to whatever or whoever picks up on the other end.
2) Text Message Terrorism - This one, pretty much all of us do at one point or another. At its extreme, TMT is a barrage of messages or calls that makes your ex want to put as much of a barrier between you two as he or she can...but it can be a lot more subtle and nonaggressive. What TMT really is, is an excess of communication when you two should really be leaving each other alone for awhile.
Both of these mistakes are at their core communication errors. Contact should be limited as much as is feasible in the time of about a month after the breakup. No contact at all is preferred, but some circumstances and situations force you to see or talk to one another...in these cases, limit it to as little contact as possible, and no intimacy at all.
